Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the rules for using JUNCTION ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Article 1 (Scope)

These Terms apply between the operator of the Service ("the Operator") and everyone who uses the Service ("Users"). Rules and notes the Operator shows within the Service are also part of these Terms.

Article 2 (Accounts)

1. The Service is for people aged 13 and over. If the law where you live sets a higher age, you must be at least that age. If you are under 18, please get a parent's or guardian's consent first. 2. One account per person. You are responsible for managing the email address you use to log in. 3. If your registration details are false, the Operator may suspend your account.

Article 3 (Rights to your content)

1. You own the rights to the posts, reading notes, letters, questions, photos and other content you write. 2. You grant the Operator a free license to use your content (display, reformat, translate, etc.) to the extent needed to provide, display and promote the Service. We never make private content public without your consent. 3. Authors own the rights to their answers. 4. When quoting a book, stay within the limits of quotation allowed by copyright law.

Article 4 (Prohibited conduct)

You must not: - break the law or public order and morals - hurt, threaten, discriminate against or stalk others - infringe others' rights (copyright, portrait rights, privacy, etc.) - post book text beyond the limits of quotation - post spoilers without marking them as spoilers - impersonate others, especially authors - post for advertising or solicitation, or repeat the same content - interfere with the Service or other Users (unauthorized access, excessive load, automated mass actions, etc.) - convert coins or gifts into money or sell them to others - do anything else the Operator considers inappropriate

Article 5 (Posting limit and review)

1. To protect your reading time, you can post to the timeline up to 3 times a day. 2. To keep the Service safe, the Operator reviews posts and other content (including automated checks). Content that breaks these Terms may be hidden or removed without notice. 3. The Operator is not obligated to review content.

Article 6 (Author registration)

1. Authors can register as authors after identity verification with an ID document. The Operator may decline a registration based on the verification. 2. Authors can read and answer the letters and questions sent about their books. Whether and which to answer is entirely up to the author. 3. A letter from a reader does not guarantee an answer.

Article 7 (Coins and gifts)

1. Coins are items for sending gifts to authors within the Service. People aged 18 and over can buy them. 2. Gifts can be sent only to authors registered in the app, attached to a letter you've sent. A gift is not payment for an answer. 3. Gifts can't be taken back. Purchased coins are non-refundable except as required by law. 4. Coins can't be converted into money or transferred to other Users. When you delete your account, unused coins are lost. 5. The Operator pays authors earnings based on the gifts they receive, by the method and on the schedule the Operator sets. 6. If there is a fraudulent purchase or use that breaks these Terms, the Operator may cancel coins.

Article 8 (Changes, interruption and termination)

With prior notice, the Operator may change the Service or stop providing it. In unavoidable cases such as maintenance or outages, the Service may be paused temporarily without notice. If the Service ends, we will handle refunds of unused coins and other matters as required by law.

Article 9 (Deleting your account and suspension)

1. You can delete your account from Settings at any time. 2. If you break these Terms, the Operator may remove your content, suspend your use or delete your account.

Article 10 (Disclaimer)

1. The Operator does not guarantee that the Service is free of errors or interruptions or fit for any particular purpose. 2. Disputes between Users, or between Users and authors, should be resolved between the parties. The Operator will cooperate as needed. 3. Except in cases of intent or gross negligence by the Operator, the Operator's liability is limited to direct and ordinary damages to the User. This does not apply where such a limitation is not permitted by law, such as the Consumer Contract Act.

Article 11 (Changes to these Terms)

The Operator may change these Terms in accordance with the law. When we do, we will announce the changes and their effective date in the Service in advance.

Article 12 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The district court with jurisdiction over the Operator's location has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over disputes about the Service.
